My Favourite Lush Shower Gels

You all know how I love a bit of Lush, heck 'bit' is an understatement - give me allllll the Lush! But one of my most recent obsessions is their shower creams. And in the year since I first discovered them, I have grown quite a collection. Now don't get me wrong, I don't use these for every single bath/shower - I only use them when I'm ill, it's a special occasion, or as a post-workout treat. So I thought I do a post sharing my favourite picks!
The Comforter // The Comforter was obviously the first shower cream that I ever bought. Slightly fitting after it's bubble bar companion was the first product I ever bought from Lush way back when I thought the tooth fairy was still a thing. I've probably bought 3 bottles over the space of a year, and I love it more and more with every use. I honestly can't see myself getting sick of this scent anytime soon!

Twilight // This is probably one of my top three shower gels from Lush, but annoyingly you can only buy it as a 100ml bottle in the 'Relax' gift set! Last month it was available online as a Lush Kitchen exclusive, but was sold out within minutes so I wasn't able to get my hands on a bigger bottle *cries*. It is the shower gel form of the Twilight bath bomb, and my oh my does it smell good. Forget that, 'good' is a massive understatement - it smells I-N-C-R-E-D-I-B-L-E!

Snow Fairy // I'd not tried this cult classic before last christmas, and I'm already making space to stock up when the christmas range is released later on this year! It has the same scent as the Candy Mountain bubble bar which is another christmassy favourite of mine (and another I'll be stocking up on when it comes out). Snow fairy has a rather sickly sweet smell that some people can't stand, but again it's in my top three Lush shower gels. It smells rather like candyfloss, and I have loved using it over the course of the summer!

Prince Charming // A limited edition for Valentine's day that, like Snow Fairy is only released for a brief period of time every year. As this isn't as popular as other limited editions, you can usually buy this for months after Valentine's Day - as I am writing this it is still available to buy online. This one is on the sweeter side, and smells like fresh pomegranate seeds and vanilla, so is perfect for the transition in and out of summer.
It's Raining Men // This is one of my favourites when I'm feeling a bit under the weather, as the soothing smell of honey is the perfect pick me up! Because honey is one of the main ingredients, it has antiseptic properties which make it perfect for cleaning yourself up. If I'm feeling particularly fancy, I use it as a shampoo to wash my hair. Many people don't realise that you can actually do this with Lush shower gels, but trust me you can!

Beautiful // This is probably the sassiest of all the shower gels I own. Packed with peaches, apricots, and enough glitter to out sparkle a unicorn, you can't not like this! It's the kind of shower gel that puts a smile on your face as soon as you pick up the bottle. It also has a certain muskiness to it so the gentlemen out there may like to try this one!

Don't Rain On My Parade // I LOVE the colour of this shower gel, the dark forest green! Divine! Plus the Funny Girl reference is a hit with me, heck any musical reference is a hit with me. With blueberry, vanilla, violet, and ylang ylang it smells slightly like Johnson's baby oil so it feels like a bit of a throwback to the 90s!

Yummy Mummy // Probably my least favourite in my collection, but I still like it nonetheless. It was a mother's day release earlier this year, and I all intentions to give it to my mum, but I simply didn't have the motivation. I couldn't bare to part with it! It has a slight shimmer to it, but nothing like 'Beautiful', and has a fruity/floral scent. I'm not sure if I would buy it again next year, but I will certainly enjoy using the rest of my current bottle!

My Go-To Shower Products

(I secretly think this is one of the best photos I've ever taken)
If it were socially acceptable I would shower twenty times a day, and if there were a job involving sitting in a shower all day long, I would be certain to hand my CV in as soon as possible. There's nothing like the refreshing cleanliness that comes with a shower, and I've realised I've been reaching for the same products recently. So I thought I would share the things that I use on a regular basis! I always start my shower by rinsing with the Dove Beauty Cream Bar. This is my favourite soap because it doesn't feel like a soap. I've used various soaps in the past, but this is the only one that doesn't dry my skin out. It has a quarter moisturising cream in it and leaves your skin silky smooth and smelling lovely!

I have this little deal with myself that if I workout in the morning, I can use one of my Lush shower gels instead of my usual cheap ones. Recently I've been working out most mornings, so I've been reaching for my Lush goodies on a regular basis. I currently own 8 different Lush shower gels (#obsessed), but my recent go-tos have been the It's Raining Men Shower Gel and The Comforter Shower Cream. They both leave you smelling wonderful! Once I've finished with shower gel, I use the Ro's Argan Body Conditioner. It's rather pricey for a full size tub, but I usually receive them in a gift set over Christmas/birthdays/Easter etc., so I haven't had to splurge just yet.

I always finish by washing my hair as I enjoy doing things backwards. I'm pretty fickle when it comes to shampoo, I tend to switch it up but at the moment I've been using the Herbal Essences Beautiful Ends Shampoo, which can I just say - smells incredible. It protects my hair and leaves it wonderfully conditioned. During the winter months I use it alongside the conditioner, but I don't bother usually as my hair is more on the oily side. Once a week I do like to treat my hair with the John Frieda Frizz Ease Miraculous Recovery Intensive Masque, to make sure it stays in the best possible condition. It's not the cheapest hair mask out there, but it leaves your hair so soft, and you get a fair few uses out of it.

What is your go-to shower staple?

Lush Ray of Sunshine Gift Set

I recently finished volunteering at a high school after working there for a whole year around my university lectures. As a little thank you all the staff in the department spoilt me rotten; buying me chocolates, cards and the Ray of Sunshine gift set from Lush. I don't know whether they knew I liked Lush, or whether it was simply a guess, but I was really happy either way. So I thought I would put my camera to good use a snap a few photos before I used everything! The gift set retails at £16.50, and includes four product miniatures wrapped in a holiday themed wrapping paper. I was forced to open up the pretty wrapping paper even though I knew what was already inside, so apologies for not having a photo of the pretty wrapping! Inside the gift there was a The Olive Branch Shower Gel (100g), Sugar Scrub Shower Scrub (50g), Each Peach and Two's a Pair Massage Bar (30g), and a block of Sandstone Soap (120g). I've never actually tried any of the products included, but they all look and smell gorgeous. I'm most excited to try the Sugar Scrub as I've never tried any of the body scrubs from Lush, and the bright green colour product looks so interesting!
The Olive Branch Shower Gel // I had convinced myself that I didn't like the smell of this, but I don't know why because it smells incredible! Lush describe it as smelling like the Mediterranean, and I can totally see why; it is made with fresh mandarins, bergamot oil, vine leans, and olive oil! This is unlike any of the shower gels I have used before as it specifically says you can use it on your hair too. So I'm excited to give that a try!

Sugar Scrub Shower Scrub // I didn't even realise this sort of product existed, but now that I know that is does it's not surprising that it comes from Lush. This particular product is a bright green colour, similar to the Avobath bath bomb. The smell reminds me slightly of Christmas. I'm not sure why as none of the ingredients shout out a typical christmas. But it has the spicey sort of smell if you get what I mean.

Sandstone Soap // This smells slightly similar to the Sexy Peel soap, however has quite a gritty texture to it. The gritty texture makes it perfect for exfoliating your skin, and leaving your skin nice and soft. It is made with several different oils, so is perfect for soothing dry skin!

Each Peach (And Two's A Pair) Massage Bar // This smells amazing - like lemon and white chocolate. Other than that I have no idea what to say about it. Although I've tried various body butters and body conditioners from Lush,  I have never actually tried one of their massage bars. I'm generally too lazy to smother myself up in body moisturiser after I get out the shower. I know thats bad, but I ain't got time for that. This sounds like the perfect product to me as you literally rub it over dry skin and your done. No greasy-ness. Just soft, scented skin.

Favourites From February

First of all, I just want to mention that my blog is back in business. Some of you may remember that towards the end of January I took a bit of a break from blogging after everything got to be a little too much for me to cope with. And whilst posts still went up, I wasn't technically here, and checking up on stats and replying to comments. But after a bit of time off, the stress has subsided slightly and I want to get back into blogging slowly - easing myself in so it's not a shock to the system. I thought the best place to start would be with a monthly favourites post as they are by far the quickest and easiest to write. But can you believe we're in March? Like whaaaaaaaat? Seriously, it will be 2017 before we know it at this rate.

So on that note, I'll dive straight in. First up is this gorgeous daisy necklace from Whistles. As much as I've eyed things up from Whistles, I've never bought anything from them as they are so expensive! This necklace set me back £25 (£22.50 with student discount), and is by far the most I have ever spent on a single piece of jewellery. The necklace that I usually wear on a daily basis was looking a bit tarnished and grubby so I treated myself to this when I saw it. I fell head over heels for it and from the moment it arrived, it has only left my neck whilst I sleep and shower. It is so dainty, and is perfect to layer with my other necklaces!

Speaking of pricey items, the Charlotte Tilbury Chic To Chic Blush in 'Love Glow' has been my go-to blush throughout February. I've been breaking my rule about only wearing premium makeup when I go out-out, and have been treating my face to more luxury items on an everyday basis. I love that if needed, it can double up as two different blushers as the 'pop' shade looks gorgeous by itself! On the opposite end of the beauty budget, I have loved teaming the blush with the Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in 'Eastend Snob'. It took me the best part of a year to track down and purchase this particular shade, and I have certainly been wearing it to death to make up for that fact. It looks soooooo gorgeous by itself so even if you don't fancy layering it with a lipstick, you can still have gorgeous lips. It has quite a matte finish, and I'm excited to bring it into Spring and wear it with lighter bases and quite minimal makeup.

Another favourite has been the Lush Twilight Shower Gel. I'd completely forgotten I owned this, and found it stuffed at the back of my collection at the start of the month. It was a limited edition/exclusive product in a Christmas gift set, and I have loved pairing it with the matching bath bomb as a weekend pamper treat or by itself as a weekday pick me up. I'm absolutely gutted that it is only a 100ml bottle, as I've only got a little bit left and I won't be able to repurchase it when it's all gone! *cries into Lush filled bathwater*.

And finally! Is the Prada Candy L'eau perfume. Purchasing this was a complete accident as I was actually trying to repurchase the Florale version of the perfume that I had used up. But as perfume is usually non-returnable I thought I'd try it out anyway - and spoiler alert I FLIPPIN' LOVE IT. Now it is completely different to the Prada Candy Florale, so I don't get why they share the same name. Ey Prada? I'm terrible at describing perfumes so I'd suggest going to a shop to smell it for yourself, but I'd say it smells quite fruity - but not a fresh, girly type of fruity. It smells more musky than the Prada Candy Florale, and is more suited to autumn/winter unlike the Florale which I prefer in spring/summer.

What have you been enjoying over the last month?

Giant Lush Haul (Feat. Christmas Products!)

Don't mind me, I just have a serious Lush problem. I went online to order a couple (as in 2 or 3!!) of things to treat myself after having a pretty rough week at uni, and I ended up ordering about half the Christmas range plus a good few things off the normal range too. Whoops! I must be honest though, this haul was pretty much me replenishing my stock with some of my favourite Lush picks, but I did also purchase a few new things (new to me at least!) and some of the limited edition bits!
First up is the Frozen Bath Bomb! I actually thought it was part of the christmas range but it turns out it's not? With uplifted neroli, rose oil and grapefruit, it smells so relaxing and is perfect for a weekend pamper session! I used it the other day and it left my bath a gorgeous shade of dark blue/turquoise with plenty of specks of shimmer.

The Experimenter Bath Bomb is always popping up on my Instagram feed and I can't believe that I've never tried it before! It is supposed to be such a cult classic! I must admit I'd probably never have picked it up in the shop as its not the type of scent I usually go for. It is fragranced with vanilla, tonka and verivert - but if I had to describe it I'd say it smells like the incense a priest waves around during a mass at church.

The Bar Humbug Bubble Bar is another newbie for me. Although it doesn't smell too christmassy, I really do like the scent! It smells like liquorice and blackcurrant which is a nice alternative to The Comforter this winter. One thing I will say though, if you're ordering it online - it is a lot smaller than I thought it would be. I thought it was the same size as The Comforter, but it is probably about half the size! Nevertheless, it still looks and smells beautiful!

One of my new favourites is the Milky Bath Bubble Bar and it is so hydrating and perfect for winter. I believe it is one of the newest releases from the Lush Kitchen, and having bought it a couple of times over the last month or two, I'd say it was a winner! Jam packed full of skimmed milk and cocoa butter, Milky Bath doesn't leave your bath all colourful, and although it isn't very impressive - it does however make some gorgeous bubbles and leaves your skin feeling incredibly soft.
The Magic Wand Reusable Bubble Bar was one of my favourites last year so I definitely had to pick one up again this year! The Magic Wand is a reusable bubble bar so you can get plenty of uses out of it - simply wave the magic wand around in the bathwater and you are left with Snow Fairy scented bubbles (sweet, like candyfloss). It supposedly lasts around 10 baths, I can't remember how many times I used it last year, but I do know that it leaves your bath a gorgeous shade of pink!

From the halloween range, I picked up the Sparkly Pumpkin Bubble Bar. I also wanted to pick up the Lord Of Misrule Shower Gel but it was sold out when I went to order! I used the sparkly pumpkin the other day in my bath and wow it smells amazing! Packed with juniperberry, lime and grapefruit oils, it has a really sophisticated scent which leaves your bathroom smelling amazing.
Urgg how gorgeous does the Holly Golightly Bubble Bar look? All that glitter! I think I'm going to save this one for Christmas Eve as it smells and looks so christmassy! Packed full of spicy cinnamon leaf and patchouli essential oils, it is perfect for getting you into the festive spirit. With the addition of glitter, which may annoy some, it leaves your skin with a wonderful glow after you've hopped out the bath!

The Candy Mountain Bubble Bar is another newbie for me. I knew it had the same scent as the Magic Wand (and Snow Fairy) so I knew that I would like it. I must admit that I prefer the scent of Snow Fairy and the Magic Wand, as they smell a little sweeter. I really love the design of the mountain and I can't wait to use it!

Another repurchase is the Rose Jam Bubbleroon! Lush recently reformulated it, and this is the second time I've bought it since. I loved it before but I honestly prefer the reformulation as it looks so much nicer. It smells exactly the same, but they have added a little glitter - and you can't go wrong with glitter!

A couple if weeks ago I popped into the Lush in Leeds and picked up the Blackberry Bath Bomb. I loved it's fresh, fruity smell and I'm so glad I have another one to use! I'd go as far to say that it is my new favourite bath bomb from Lush! Although it doesn't actually have any blackberries in it (or as far as I can tell from the ingredients list anyway), the citrusy scent is really refreshing! Plus there's a little surprise inside!
If there's one product that truly captures christmas, it has to be The Magic Of Christmas Reusable Bubble Bar. I mean just look at it! The Magic Of Christmas smells just like one of those christingles you used to make it primary school - with the orange, the cloves and the candied fruit. Like the Magic Wand, it is reusable and you can supposedly get up to 10 baths out of the product - although knowing me I'll want to use the entire thing in one go haha!
I didn't realise that there was such thing as a luxury bath melt. Although whilst on the website I noticed that a couple of my favourite bath melts were infact included in the catergory. Something I'd not seen before were the solid bath oils. I liked the sound of the Razzle Dazzle Bath Oil (Luxury Bath Melt), although I'm still undecided whether I like the scent or not. For the size, it was quite expensive and I don't think I will buy it for myself again. It is supposed to melt away and leave you bathwater all pink and hydrating so I'm quite excited to use it.
Another one that I haven't tried before is the Snow Fairy Shower Gel *gasps* and every year I see bloggers stocking up on the festive favourite so that they can use it all year round - so I thought I'd order it to see what all the hype was about. And now I see! It smells bloomin' gorgeous! I've used it a couple of times since receiving it, and my oh my I might have to order myself another bottle! It has an incredibly sweet fragrance, almost like it was pure sugar!

I've heard lots of people say that the Sakura Bath Bomb is unimpressive and boring, but it's one of my all time favourite products from Lush (after the Comforter of course). It doesn't do much exciting, other than fizz away - but it has such a gorgeous scent! Sakura has a very refreshing fragrance and little pieces of green popping candy on the top which act as an exfoliator, gently softening the skin whilst you relax away in the bath.

What is your favourite thing to buy from Lush and have you tried anything from the christmas range?

Another Lush Cosmetics Haul

Hi Friends! So after I posted a photo of my many Lush bags on Twitter the other week, a few of you asked if I would do another 'haul' post. Judging from my stats, most of you seemed to really like my last Lush haul! I was trying not to do any shopping due to the fact that I am trying to save up to buy a new phone. But as my sister's birthday was coming up I needed to get her a present and she loves Lush almost as much as I do. And of course, I couldn't help but pick up a few treats for myself too! In the end I came out with 3 of the large bags!

I was actually in Lush for over 45 minutes! Probably the longest time I have ever spent in Lush! And I came out with some colourful new products that I've never tried before. The star of the show has to be The Comforter Shower Cream! I wish I had a photo of my face when I saw it in the shop - I got so excited when I saw it in Leeds rather than on Oxford Street in London where it was exclusively sold! Although I didn't realise how expensive it was till I was checking the price to go in this post! This 500ml bottle apparently set me back £15.95! Although I suppose if you compare it to the bubble bar at £4.75, I suppose it works at quite a bargain! You can buy it in 100ml, 250ml, 500ml and even 1 litre bottles - I didn't see any 1litre bottles but I bought the biggest as the scent is my all time favourite!

Another of the new products I picked up was the Cosmic Warrior Fresh Face Mask. I've never tried any skincare from Lush and many people rave about their facemasks. The past few times I've been in I've browsed their skincare products, but been so overwhelmed I've just left. But this time Inwas determied to make a decision and choose one. I read all the product descriptions and decided to opt for the Cosmetic Warrior as it was the only one that mentioned 'spots'. Something I tend to look for in a facemask. Since buying it I've used it once and my skin really seemed to like it! When I was at the till, one of the assistants mentioned that it was 'too aggressive' for her skin and that 'if I could get past the strong smell of garlic' I might like it. This worried me a lot, but In reality I can hardly smell the garlic - only tea tree oil, which I love the smell of. I'm currently loving it, but it does kind of annoy me that you have to keep it in the fridge as thats not somewhere I tend to keep my beauty products haha!

Like I said, I've never tried anything other than bath and body products from Lush so I thought I'd try some of their gorgeous looking soaps. I purchased the 'Bohemian' soap and the new 'Sea Vegetable' soap as I liked the scent of the two and thought the colours would look nice in my bathroom. The Bohemian' soap (the yellow one) has a subtle lemony scent. I don't really know what else to say about it as how descriptive can you be about a bar of soap? The 'Sea Vegetable' soap is a gorgeous dark green/navy blue colour. I think it smells like ginger and mixed spice although as the name suggests its supposed to smell like sea vegetables. Although having never smelt a sea vegetable (I've eaten seaweed at a chinese restaurant, does that count?)  I cannot comment on this whatsoever.

As I was picking out a few bath bombs and bubble bars for my sister, I decided to treat myself to another 'Floating Island' bath melt after using my last one the night before. I briefly talked about this in my last Lush haul, and although it looks extremely unimpressive, it leaves your skin silky soft and smelling beautiful!

And finally, on an impulse as I was feeling particularly generous that day (I mean come on, I bought 2 bags of Lush for other people), I bought one of the little charity pots at the till. I'm yet to try this but for £1 you can't really complain.

What have you all been buying recently?

Lush Cosmetics Haul

'A French Kiss'
'Ultra Violet Bubble Bar' - Soon to be discontinued :(
'The Comforter'
We all love a bit of Lush. And I am rather impartial to a bath filled with pampering goodies and all my friends and family know how much I love Lush. So having had my birthday fairly recently, I was given a large collection! Before this I was running pretty low, only having about half of a 'The Comforter' bubble bar.

Mmmelting Marshmallow Moment - £3.95
Along with the 'Floating Island' this is described as a 'Bath Melt' and is one of my Lush staples. Whilst it's not one of the most exciting bath products, it softens and revitalises your skin so is perfect for a weekend pamper session! It contains almond oil which is supposed to leave your skin and hair looking smooth and hydrated. It smells absolutely beautiful and the smell lingers in your bathroom for a truly relaxing experience.

Floating Island - £4.35
Although this doesn't look as impressive as some of the other products available at Lush, it is one of my favourites. I've lost count how many times I have repurchased this! It is very aptly named as it is literally a 'floating island' and slowly melts away on the surface of the water. It doesn't create any bubbles or anything and isn't as exciting as some of the bath bombs, but it does release oils into your bath water leaving your skin super soft!

A French Kiss - £4.25
This is one that I have never tried before, my mum bought it for me for my birthday and I am so excited to try it! I'm not usually one for lavender scented things, it generally reminds me of an air fresher my dad used to buy. But I must say that this looks extremely impressive with the stick of dried lavender poking out the top. According to the Lush website it has recently been reformulated and is jam packed full of lavender goodness. I am yet to try it out, but have heard that it leaves your water a beautiful lavender (ha get it?) colour with mounds of white bubbles.

Ultra Violet Bubble Bar - £4.75
This was a first for me, and when in the shop the woman behind the counter said that it was being discontinued soon. So if you are wanting to try it, you better head to Lush ASAP! It smells absolutely beautiful and turns your bath water a deep shade of purple, which is soooo soothing. I had half in my bath today as a little Friday (or should I say FriYAY) treat and I smell incredible!

The Comforter - £4.75
Can you tell this one is my favourite from how many I have? I love the bubble bars as you can break them up and use them multiple times making them more economical than other Lush bath products! This one is my all time favourite, I've been using this for years and hopefully for many more to come! It turns the water a beautiful shade of bright pink and creates thousands of bubbles for you to relax in. If they ever discontinue this I will cry. A lot.
