The Beauty Cleanse and Detox

Today's post is going to be rather short and sweet as today marks the official first day of spring and I thought I'd seize the opportunity to have a long overdue beauty cleanse - getting rid of products that are almost empty (in some cases, actually empty) or I simply don't need anymore. So for any of you fellow beauty lovers *cough* hoarders *cough*, I want to encourage to do the same. If your drawers and cupboards are overflowing with products (that are probably well past their use by date) and you are in need of a serious beauty detox, then this post is especially for you.

ONE. First up you need to assess the situation and see how big this task is going to be (probably not the best idea to start this when you are meeting a friend in an hour). Have you not had a clear out in a while? Have you got products bursting out of every possible storage location? If so, you probably want to take an entire weekend and slowly sort through everything. If your collection isn't so bad, or you recently had a clear out but know that there are still a few things you could get rid of - maybe an hour or two will be enough.

TWO. The only real way to really sort through your collection is to set out everything in front of you so you can see what you're working with. Start by upturning or tipping out your drawers, boxes or makeup bags onto the floor and start rummaging through to see what you have.

THREE.  Now it's decision making time. The best thing to do is to divide your stash up into three piles - keep, throw and donate. Anything you find to be broken or out of date goes in the bin. Things you know you don't or won't wear/use can be put into a box for friends and family to have a look though. Pretty self-explanatory.

FOUR. Once you have decided what you are going to do with each product (whether bin it, donate it to a friend or keep it), then this is a great opportunity to clean your storage (and even your products if you're anything like me) before tidying everything away. Whilst you're at it, you could even wash your brushes *sighs* and organise everything into categories.

Have you got any tips on how to have a clearout?
Thanks for reading!
